A quality assessment of Internet information regarding accelerated orthodontics

Abstract Objective The aim of the present study was to evaluate quality information uploaded onto Internet regarding accelerated orthodontics. Materials and methods selected search terms ‘accelerated orthodontics’, ‘rapid ‘speed braces’, braces’ were searched by three commonly used engines (Google, Yahoo, Bing), URLs top 50 websites recorded. evaluated using DISCERN, HONcode, Journal American Medical Association (JAMA) benchmark instruments. readability Flesch Reading Ease Score (FRES) Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level (FKGL). Results total mean DISCERN score (section 1 + section 2) for all 29.50/75 (range: 15–68). average FRES 52.99 ± 31.91. Also, FKGL 10.73 2.03.
